Physician, Mentor and Winner at Life, Courtney White

First things first, coffee is a much needed starter for Great Life mentor Courtney White, since she’s up around 4 am. After coffee, Courtney is is off to run, because she’s almost always training for a marathon, then she goes to work as a physician. Her proudest accomplishments in life are finishing medical school and running the Boston Marathon.

Because she likes to stay busy, her evenings are usually a music lesson or more workouts. Solo activities, like running or playing piano, are a helpful way for Courtney to turn off her brain so she can be her purest self. She is a resilient, passionate and kind person who does much for others.

Although she would say most of her happiest moments have been when her whole family can be together, she also really enjoys her work. As a pediatrician, Courtney creates an open, supportive and compassionate space for her patients and their parents. She really likes working with kids, which makes her a great mentor.

Courtney has been faithfully serving one girl, through Great Life Mentoring, for over five years now! She enjoys making a difference and being a supportive, consistent presence in her young friend’s life.

“My experience has been wonderful,” Courtney says. “I’ve been so lucky to be able to watch her grow. I celebrate every milestone she hits, and I can't believe how far she's come.”

People close to Courtney know she’s an avid reader and has played piano for over 25 years (she still takes piano lessons to this day). Courtney excels at the things she does, and maybe that’s why she enjoys cheering on the friend she mentors, when she also excels.

Courtney wants to be the best athlete she can be, so she continues to train for big marathon goals. As she trains, she tells herself, "It's not 'I can’t,' it's 'I haven't done it yet!’” Wow, she even mentors herself.

Great Life Mentoring celebrates Courtney White of Vancouver, Washington for this five-year milestone of mentoring a child who faces adversity in life. Her dedication to the things she believes in makes her a winner every day!
