Mental Health Awareness Month
Portland youth are experiencing a mental health crisis
Right here at home, Oregon ranks 49th in the nation for youth mental health, with the highest prevalence of mental illness and lower rates of access to care.*
Currently, mental illness costs the nation an estimated $282 billion annually.**
Great Life Mentoring is delivering a solution
GLM is the only mentoring organization in the United States exclusively serving youth with mental health needs from low-resource households.
Formal research confirms that GLM’s model is highly effective, resulting in “significantly improved mental health conditions” for the youth.

In January 2024, the organization received a generous one-time grant from the Chris and Dee Dee Gibson Foundation to establish a site in Portland, OR.
