The Difference Your Gift Makes
You're a good person, and you care about kids. Especially the ones who live in poverty, experience trauma and have serious mental health concerns. You’d like to help, but you don’t really know if your time or money actually make a difference.
Reading this indicates you have hope, resilience and care for others. You really want to know. So I’m taking a pause today, to speak to you and encourage you to be part of the solution.
We can't do this alone! We need your help, and there are several ways to do so.
Two minutes is all it takes to donate at greatlifeimpact.com. Any donation amount is appreciated.
If you’d like to learn more, please keep reading.
Here's our fundraising update as of today.
This is a fun time to give to Great Life Mentoring because it’s our first time doing a fundraising campaign!
After 21 years operating under the umbrella of a large mental health organization, Great Life Mentoring is becoming an independent nonprofit. We’ve never had to fundraise before, because our operating expenses are covered by the Clark County Department of Community Services. They really understand how our evidence-based practice works for this underserved population.
We have a one-time need to bridge a funding gap of $108,000; the cost to transition. That means you can help make history and be part of the team that makes Great Life Mentoring a nonprofit organization.
People like you (maybe even you) have given $39,300 over the past few months. That accounts for 36% of our $108,000 need.
We’ve received a range of gifts between $15 and $5,000, but more than half (54%) of all gifts were $50 and $100 dollar donations. Each one of you has made a difference to our overall need. Thank you!
Great Life Mentoring is not some big business that doesn’t know you. Your dollars won’t fall into a void of general operating expenses. We see every name, and we know you. It’s a celebration for us to say “one of our mentors signed up to give $15 a month,” or “a mentor shared our post on social media, and people gave $150.” Can you imagine how we were all touched when we heard “one person gave $50 from a social security check”? Wow!
You matter to us. Your heartfelt donations encourage us to keep believing that we’re not in this alone. Seeing your donations come through tells us you’re part of the team.
Are you still wondering if your small donation actually counts? Or maybe you’ve already given all you can spare, and you’d like to contribute more, but don’t know what to do. Read on.
It’s not just your money we need. Beyond financial giving, there are other ways you can support Great Life Mentoring, for the kids you know and for generations of kids to come (please choose one or more!).
